Rangers fans have been discussing the prospect of re-signing former Ibrox star Steven Naismith this summer, with his contract at Hearts expiring at the end of the season.
As reported by The Daily Record’s live transfer blog on Wednesday, there have been social media rumours that the attacker could be heading back to Glasgow seven years after departing for Everton, rumours that the outlet reckon are nonsense.
Nonetheless it’s been a hot topic amongst supporters over the last 24 hours and likely will be until the forward signs a new deal at Tynecastle.
Naismith scored 14 goals in 27 appearances for the Jam Tarts this season but missed much of it through injury and at 32 years of age there are question marks about his ability to play the dozens of games required to be an important player for a big club like Rangers.
Other fans also haven’t forgiven the player for leaving the club during a period of financial calamity in 2012.
