As reported in an exclusive by The Scottish Sun, former Rangers owner Craig Whyte has joined Twitter in an effort to communicate with people during his upcoming fraud trial.
Little has been seen nor heard from Whyte since his dramatic high profile ownership of Rangers that saw the club plunged into financial chaos.
Whyte is accused of claiming that controlling stake in the Gers “by fraud” between May 2010 and May 2011. The case is due to be heard at the High Court in Glasgow from Monday.
A Scottish Sun source said:
He wanted to have his own platform so that he could comment on certain aspects of the case and respond directly to anything being said he disagrees with. He is also keen to highlight what life is like in the goldfish bowl that is Glasgow while he is based there for the trial.
The move has been met with predictable hilarity from Celtic supporters who, due to his part in Rangers’ troubles over the last 5 years, has become something of a cult figure with Hoops fans.
Whyte has yet to Tweet but at time of writing had already attracted more than 1,100 followers, eager to see what his first post may be.
Fans took to the platform to share their thoughts on his arrival…
