Making an impression with the new manager during pre-season is essential for any player, however one of Bayern Munich’s keepers might have overdone it as he accidentally punched his new manager Pep Guardiola.
The German champions were about to take this year’s team photo when the new manager was walking in front of the players. Unfortunately for one player (and Pep), substitute goalkeeper Tom Starke made a sudden movement and accidentally punched Guardiola in the face.
Upon realising what happened Starke immediately hugged his new manager, as a sign of apology, while some of his team mates took the opportunity to have a good laugh at their new gaffer.
Nevertheless, the former Barcelona coach did not lose his sense of humour as he smiled and accepted his goalkeeper’s apology.
The video has got more than 180,000 views in just two days and features hilarious comments such as: “Oh sorry! I forgot you’re not in Barca anymore.”
The Bavarians are playing Hamburg tomorrow for the Telekom Cup and are preparing for the restart of the Bundesliga on August 9th and the UEFA Super Cup against last year’s Europa League winners Chelsea on August 30th.
