Leeds United are interested in signing Aston Villa’s Albert Adomah after the forward rejected the offer of a new contract at Villa Park according to The Birmingham Mail.
What’s the story?
The 30-year-old has been at Villa since 2016 when he signed from Middlesbrough, and the attacking midfielder has gone on to make 81 appearances for the club, scoring 17 goals and assisting 15.
Adomah, who was Villa’s top scorer last season, has one year left on his contract and wanted to agree a new deal with the club this summer.
However, talks haven’t taken place, which has led Leeds United and Middlesbrough to ignite interest in the prolific forward, according to the report.

Do Leeds need him?
There is no doubt that Adomah, who is valued at £4.5million on Transfermarkt, is a real talent who will guarantee goals at Championship level.
However, at 30 and costing a decent sum, is he really the sort of player that Marcelo Bielsa needs at the moment?
With Kemar Roofe, Pablo Hernandez and Patrick Bamford, Leeds should have enough attacking firepower this season and it’s at the back where they may need reinforcements on deadline day.
