On Monday, the 30-man shortlist for the prestigious Ballon d’Or was announced, and there were plenty of familiar faces.
Eleven Premier League players, including Eden Hazard and Kevin De Bruyne, made the cut.
For Liverpool, they had four representatives in Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and goalkeeper Alisson.
The award will be presented to the winner at a ceremony in Paris on December 3.
In the last few seasons, the award has gone back and forth between Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo and Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi, but earlier in the year, Luka Modric shook things up by taking home FIFA’s The Best award for Footballer of the Year.
It is likely that the Croatian international will also scoop the Ballon d’Or, but some Liverpool fans believe that another contender should be in the running.

James Milner has been a mainstay in Jurgen Klopp’s team over the last few seasons, and during the 2017-18 campaign the midfielder, who has scored 17 goals for the Reds, set a new Champions League record for most assists (9) in a single season.
On Reddit and Twitter, groups of Liverpool supporters questioned his exclusion.
