Southampton failed to climb out of the relegation zone in the English Premier League on Wednesday night, only managing to pick up a draw at home to Brighton & Hove Albion.
The away side actually took the lead early in the first half and Saints had to rely on a Jack Stephens equaliser in the second half to rescue a vital point.
Mauricio Pellegrino’s side haven’t won a match in the top-flight since November and pressure is mounting on the Argentinian boss as league results show no sign of improving.
Fans were left disappointed not just with the 1-1 result but also the performance and had sharp criticism for struggling striker Shane Long in particular.
The Republic of Ireland international has scored just one goal in 21 appearances this season and supporters are calling for him to be dropped, or at least play as part of a two man forward line.
