Chelsea announced that they had completed the £58m signing of Borussia Dortmund winger and one-time Tottenham Hotspur target Christian Pulisic on Wednesday, and Spurs fans were quick to react to the news on Twitter.
The Telegraph reported earlier in 2018 that the north London outfit were considering switching their attentions to the USA international with a move for Ryan Sessegnon more unlikely following Fulham’s promotion to the Premier League, but they ended up failing to sign a single player during the summer window.
Now their neighbours from the capital have swooped in early in January to bring the 20-year-old winger to Stamford Bridge, in a deal that Spurs would have had to smash their transfer record to complete.
Tottenham supporters took to social media to give their thoughts on the Chelsea deal, and while one said “Pulisic > Mane”, another described him as “more of a Levy signing than Martial”, with the Man United attacker also being linked with the club previously.
