According to The Sun, Arsenal are tempted to splash out £15 million to sign Club Brugge striker Wesley Moraes in the upcoming January transfer window.
What’s the word?
Brazilian forward Wesley has been in fine form for the Belgian outfit so far this season, and has already racked up ten goals and four assists in 22 games across all competitions.
As per the aforementioned report, Emery’s former club Valencia are also keen on signing the 22-year-old centre-forward from Juiz de Fora. However, the Emirates Stadium would surely be an impossible destination for the attacker to resist if the Gunners did make an offer.

Wesley might well be the next promising young talent on the radar of Sven Mislintat – the north London club’s head of recruitment. However, the Gunners already have an exciting young forward on their books, and the arrival of Wesley could potentially hamper Eddie Nketiah’s development by cutting down his chances of first team minutes.
Give Nketiah a chance
With the likes of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Danny Welbeck ahead of him in the pecking order, Nketiah’s chances under Emery have been limited so far. However, after Welbeck’s unfortunate injury, the 19-year-old has found himself more involved of late.
A recent start against Vorskla Poltava in the Europa League saw the academy graduate produce a fine performance whilst leading the line for Arsenal. His committed, hard-working display contained plenty of promise of what may be yet to come from the youngster at the Emirates.
Signing Wesley now could well ensure that such potential doesn’t come to fruition.
